In the field with young leaders

This week I’m out 'in the field' with the European Forest Institute.Yesterday saw us criss-crossing the spectacular Montserrat Natural Park.

It's all part of EFI's Young Leadership Programme, which has welcomed 20 young forestry professionals to Barcelona this week from across the Mediterranean region.

I'm there to help them develop their voice by communicating about their work - and their vision - with clarity, creativity and passion.

Yesterday they had the chance to interview young people who have chosen to move from the city to the land, recovering farmland and taking up traditional farm practices in a sustainable way.

Stories that inspire, and give hope.

The participants are on an exciting journey here in Barcelona - in the beautiful Modernist site of Sant Pau - to learn about sustainable land management, and solutions for the future of forestry.

I’m thrilled to part of their journey.
