A formula for success

Standing outside IESE Business School

When was the last time you asked for feedback on a presentation?

I’m happily back at IESE Business School this month, coaching on the communications course for incoming MBA students.

In their takeaways, there is one word that keeps cropping up:

Feedback.

They love receiving specific, constructive feedback on their speeches.

And giving their teammates the same.

Feedback delivered with empathy. Offered – and accepted - as a gift.

It’s a simple, yet powerful formula. And it works every time.

A speech before feedback and a speech post-feedback are – as one of the students said - like night and day.

Feedback helps you recognise your natural style and innate resources – yes, we all have them!

And pinpoints where you need to improve to be a truly compelling speaker.

So, before your next high-stake presentation:

  • Practice in front of a trusted colleague and ask for specific feedback.

  • Buddy up to become accountability partners - a sure way of continually building your communication skills.

  • Record yourself (and watch the video!). Biofeedback shines a light too on voice, body language and presence.

Practice - Receive feedback - Integrate the feedback - and Practice again.

And, like the MBA students, you’ll be wowed by the result.

Send me a message to discover how I can help you transform your communications. With plenty of feedback. Delivered with empathy ;)
