I can be the hero of my stories

The word Hero

“I can be the hero of the stories I tell!”

This was one of the takeaways from a recent Story Circle I led on corporate values.

And all my recent workshops on speech-making, storytelling and elevator pitching confirmed that fact.

Some of the best stories we tell are the ones about our own journey.

As I listened to

- MBA students share their stories of success, personal lessons learned, or inspirational tales of overcoming adversity…

- A team bringing corporate values to life by telling stories of those values in action, in their lives…

- And young leaders in forestry and land recovery, finding creative ways to explain what calls them to do their work - and painting a compelling picture of their vision for the future…

I was transported on a multitude of incredible journeys.

Whose heroes have shared their humanity. With generosity. From the heart.

Their stories got us thinking. Showed us new meaning.

Stirred emotion.

Our journeys matter. And so do the stories we tell about them.

I wonder…

What story can you tell, whose hero… is you?
